Victims is an artbook that steps inside the story that sparked Culture Club’s homonymous song and the cultural moment that carried it — told only through visuals, imagery, and the lyrics that gave it voice.
Through the song’s layered imagery, we step into a fictional diary penned by Boy George, the band's frontman. The result is an intimate, imagined outpouring about his secret relationship with drummer Jon Moss, the creative friction that ignited the track, and the emotional aftermath it left behind.
The diary becomes a quiet j’accuse against the era’s conformity and stereotypes, inviting readers to voice their inner worlds in all their strangeness, strength, and unapologetic truth.
The last three pieces feature Italian texts originally written by Achille Lauro on Instagram during Sanremo 2021. The original Italian texts are shown following, alongside their English translations. ITA: “L’amore è semplice solo se vogliamo che lo sia. Esistere è essere. Esistere è diritto di ognuno. Dio benedica chi è.” ENG: “Love is simple only if we choose it to be. To exist is to be. Existence is everyone’s right. God bless those who simply are.”
